Dean Group Consulting, LLC (DGC) was previously called The Dean Group and was originally formed in 1985 in Chicago, Illinois. The firm is now based in Lutz, Florida. Mr. Jan M. Dean is the president and founder of both firms.

Mr. Jan M. Dean has over 30 years of compensation and human resources consulting experience.

• Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) - served as Regional Practice Leader of Compensation & Human Resources Consulting
• Alexander & Alexander (now part of AON) - served as Vice President of the Midwest Management Consulting Division
• Abbott, Langer, & Associates, Inc. - previously affiliated as an outside compensation and human resources consultant
Mr. Dean has served as a guest speaker at professional seminars and for professional groups and associations that include the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, The Northwest Suburban Manufacturers’ Association, and the Bank Administration Institute. He has authored papers and technical manuals in the human resources field and is a former member of the faculty at the Keller Graduate School of Management. Mr. Dean is a graduate of Indiana State University.
